Book Two of Merlin Fraser's Inner Space trilogy of paranormal murder mysteries involving Detective Inspector Nick Burton has been published. The book, subtitled The Reluctant Nemesis, can be purchased from www.Lulu.com and www.Amazon.com (paperback, 319 pages, list price $17.25).

Tetbury, Gloucestershire - April 29, 2010 - Paranormal forces, a Merlin Fraser specialty, are once again at play. Someone is messing profoundly with Deborah Patterson, a divorced mother in her early fifties, who apparently did nothing to deserve the strange and unattractive surroundings, subtle marks of physical violence, the changed appearance, and - worst of all - partial amnesia.

Fraser doesn't permit her to relinquish control. She immediately mobilizes whatever memory she has retained to start putting the pieces in this jigsaw puzzle - and thus her life - back together. The author's patented character identification medicine immediately induces the psychological insight and character self-awareness required to bring the reader into a desired mood: We must empathize with this "unremarkable" woman, whose practical sense and overall resourcefulness make her deserving of our hopes and trust.

Enter Nick Burton, the quirky but good-natured experienced police detective, who is the main character throughout the Inner Space trilogy. He is slightly fitter and quite a bit  happier compared with at the onset of Book One. A promotion and the woman now on his side have done him a world of good. When he is dragged into a homicide investigation beyond his normal area of responsibility, he is understandably a bit edgy, but uncompromisingly committed to getting to the bottom of this matter. Fraser's detailed description of his investigation is convincing and entertaining, so we are keen to find out what our favorite detective can do to make Deborah Patterson's struggle against the dark, paranormal forces a bit less lonely and a lot less futile.
